Owner David Lohnes is the oldest of 4 boys born in Los Angeles, CA in 1978. David's Great Grandfather established Daniel Lohnes Trucking in 1910 in Los Angeles, CA. Serving others through transportation is in the Lohnes DNA.

David's maternal Great Grandfather Red Foley was the first country performer to record in Nashville. Known for songs like "Peace in the Valley", "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" and "Old Shep", he was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1967.

A fun fact any Memphian can appreciate... on October 3, 1945, Elvis Presley sang Red Foley's song "Old Shep" at age ten for his first public performance, dressed as a cowboy, he stood on a chair to reach the microphone and later covered the song on his second Album.

David & Tamara Lohnes impart over 40 years of combined professional moving experience. David started his moving career in 1998 in Seattle Washington packing, loading, driving, and learning the moving business from the ground up. In late 2000, God provided an opportunity for David to relocate to Nashville and reconnect with his roots, build his first company, and most importantly meet his wife Tamara. Starting with 3 trucks and a handful of movers, David & Tamara were blessed to grow the business to 20 trucks and 100 employees over the next decade. They sold the business in 2010 and relocated to Memphis, TN to downshift and pivot their focus to their greatest accomplishment, raising their two children Elise & Linken. The love of family is life's greatest blessing and Lohnes Family Moving has a ❤ for serving the families of Memphis. This means we are always quality-focused, never revenue-focused, and dedicated to provide you with the personal attention you deserve!
